If you're spending a grand on a wheel bearing (the most recent issue I've seen you mention), your shop is ripping you off, horribly.

Like Dennis said, there's an equal amount of these Acadia's that had issues, primarily 2008-2012. I think Nick's first one just used oil for the most part. He put the best oil in it from Amsoil and even after 3000 miles the oil was shot. He still had a good run out of it. I believe he either had 2 or 3 of them and they put a ton of miles on them.

Join up on the Acadia forum on Facebook. You'll see people in there all day with 200k plus in those year ranges with not a single issue and others that just want out of them.

I remember changing the oil on ours in the first 1500miles and checking the oil almost weekly. I've put 20k miles on it and finally was brave enough to see the "change oil" soon light come on. I was surprised to see that it had the same amount of oil in it that I put in... Obviously by 2013 I think they got all the kinks out of them and ours is a 2016. Is only shy of the Denali package by dual exhaust and a shit ton of crhome and plastic panels...

No, the front hub assembly wasn't a grand, it was about $500 P&L.

But you can defend GM all you want....I have spent at least 10x more than one should have to spend on repairs to a 80K mile truck. I honestly do not think I have driven that truck more than 10K consecutive miles without it needing a significant repair.

Oh, and the current issue with it is the "Service airbag" light is on. I don't feel like spending $140 to get it diagnosed so they can tell me it will cost between $300-$1000 to fix (depending on cause).

OK, Burp, no more thread-jacking. Good luck with your purchase. Hopefully you'll get a good one.

Thanks for all the info guys. I definitely am doing my research on what I am getting. Was just asking anyone on her if they have had one and what issues or other things they had with them. I know every vehicle has problems and finding a good one isn't easy. I am looking at quite a few and am not just going to jump into one as soon as I like it. I will keep everyone updated as I go.

After looking the 4.2 and the 5.3 get pretty close to the same mileage. Get a Black Bear tune and I would be good. And I found a 06 with a 5.3 in it.

5.3s are also more reliable... And if you _do_ need to spend money on the engine, further down the line... Parts are cheaper, lol

And the 5.3 will provide better real world fuel mileage.
