TIRE HELP PLEASE!!

Ok im going insane trying to get a proper answer on these damn tires for what to run for a tire pressure.

I went from the stock goodyear 265/60/20 to an E rated cooper zeon ltz in 305/55/20.

I just got them put on today, the tire shop set them at 50 psi. When i asked them why, they said because these are a much heavier load tire and are rated for 65 psi and could hurt the treat life by running them at such a low pressure of 35 psi (the door sticker)

I know there are lots of people who run the 305/55/20 tires, so what do you run for your tire pressure and how are they wearing?

some help please?!?! this is an expensive investment and i dont wanna ruin them...

I usually run 40 psi in my 275/55/20 Yokohamas

I run whatever is listed on the tires. If i'm going off road I let some pressure out of them.

You will need to drive them to see where they meet the pavement. I had load range "E" BFGs on my Dmax and while at the recommended tire pressure at the door it caused Cupping and only the center was getting warn... I changed it to 35 in the back and 40psi in the front. I actually re-programmed the computer to accommodate this and they lasted a long time! I had 35k miles on the tires when I sold the truck with 40% life left.

only the center? Your door was recommending higher then what was needed? See my issue is the door is recommending less then what im running...

the tires list 65 psi max... That is way to high... thats a pressure u run if you are running them at full load

Never had any issues so far, tires have about 10,000 miles on them and still look and ride like brand new. I had about 25,000 on my last truck with the same tires, and they looked great too.

ME!

Max psi is 50 on my tires. I've never ran MAX on any tire I've ever owned, but that's just me!

My Michelin's are E rated tires and I'm running them at 40psi, which is 5psi higher than what the door sticker states. Main reason is to get better economy but not run on the center of the tires. When I drive over water and look at my tires it is contacting the entire tire. If I ran them at the recommended pressure of 65psi it would wear on the center and the side of the tire would never touch. Now if I'm going to haul a heavy load then I pump them up for that use.

I don't see where running them at a lower pressure would hurt anything.
