Thinking of selling my truck

Hey guys. I'm tossing around the idea of selling my truck and getting the exact same thing only newer. The only reason I'm thinking about it is because I can sell it now for about $1600 less than I paid for it almost 2.5 years ago. Combined with the current offers on 2010 and the $1500 "Private offer" certificate, I can get into a 2010 for about $3750 out of pocket. The 2010 I'm looking at is an All Terrain which I've always liked but I can't stand the cheap ass "chrome clad" wheels so those would have to go immediately. Other than that, the only other thing of importance to me would be gaining the 6 speed (I think good?) and bluetooth. I could probably get into the same truck although a new 2011 for about another $3000.

So, go for the 2010 or is the 2011 worth the extra money? Really no signifcant changes that I can think of other than having a model year newer. Don't you think any offset in depreciation by getting the 2011 vs 2010 would be compensated for by the better rebates on the 2010?

I say if you can afford it go for it. I would love to have the 6 speed and for that price difference for a new warranty and a few of the other updates the have done go for it.

No 6.2?

Unfortunately it just has the 5.3. I'd love to have a 6.2 and told myself that my next truck would have it. The problem is I haven't been able to find any around here optioned out the way I want it with the 6.2. The only 6.2 to be had around here are Denalis. That would be nice but also has a lot of stuff that isn't worth the money to me. It would be about $10-11,000 more to go the Denali route. I would keep my truck and money in the bank before doing that.

I'm leaning towards the 2010 myself. Gonna run out to a few lots and browse the selection this afternoon. Really want the 6.2 but I need to act quick so I don't loose the buyer for my truck so hunting down the 6.2 like I want probably isn't feasible. :(

Good luck, remember if you test drive a new 5.3 it's gonna feel sick compared to your BB Tuned 5.3.

You betcha
Yeah the 5.3/6spd trucks are retardedly slow from the factory (although very smooth!). You will feel like you stepped into a 4.3 v6 truck.

Go for the All-Terrain, my Dad has a 2010 in White and it's pretty nice. He also got it 12,000 cheaper than sticker price and he ordered it with the options he wanted.

Well, if it was me, (which I just placed an order) I'd not settle for anything less than you want. You'll have buyers remorse if you don't get what you want. Second point would be, either a 10 and buy a truck thats already a year old, you'll get some breaks now, but you'll pay later. If you get an '11, you'll pay a little more up front, but get it in the end too.

I ordered the 6.2 with NHT :D
