OK, I cannot justify spending $45K+ on a new Ram. But I am considering trading my truck for this:

2006 Suburban, fully loaded with heated leather and 130K miles. He is asking $11,995 for it.

He offered to trade for my truck with $8K cash ($20K for my truck).

My truck has only 59K miles on it, but I figure if it checks out mechanically (I would have a 3rd party mechanic inspect it) and the fact I only put on about 5-6K miles/year, this thing could last me several years. I could see it needing a trans rebuild with that many miles on a 4L60E, but that would not be the end of the world. These GMT800's with the non-AFM 5.3L are known to go 300K miles.

The chrome door handles will be the gone. :puke:

"DO IT!"
That Burb looks to be in good shape, and I doubt if it's hurt with only 130K on it. Especially if it's been taken care of.

I love these things and secretly looking for a deal on one, especially "if" in a year or two the 3rd child comes along.

Being that this Burb is z71, I'd bet it has a transmission cooler. If that's the case, any transmission issues are slim to none if well maintained.

We have almost 400k on Earl with the original transmission.

What are you waiting for? Do it! I'll bet those brake lines aren't rotted out either. :D

I must admit I like them a lot better than the GMT900s

Do you still tow your boat?

only about four times a year. Twice in the spring (from storage to home, then from home to marina) and 2-3x in the fall (from marina to home, home to shop for winterization, then to storage).

I realize my truck is a better tow vehicle, but this should suffice for the amount of towing I do.
