I say set up your truck in the way that makes you happy, because that's all that matters.

...well that and getting Jeff's approval. That's super important too. :wookie:

I'm curious to see what (if anything) folks suggest and the pros & cons of those suggestions. :dunno:

I say leave it alone.

Doing what you are proposing WILL significantly affect the performance of your truck...both power and FE. Those are heavy tires, and raising the front end hurts more than most people realize.

My truck has had several different set-ups

1. stock 20" wheels, tires and height.
2. Leveled 2-1/2" with custom wheels and load E range ATs (18" Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285 series)
3. OEM 17" GMT800 Yukon Denali wheels with pizza cutter OEM SUV tires. (power was awesome and FE good)..would roast the tires right off the rims if I wanted to.
4. current set-up with same 17" GMT800 Yukon Denali wheels with BFG AT KOs in 285 and Load E range.....DOG out of the hole once again.

I dont care about the performance loss anymore...but if you do, don't do it. You WILL be disappointed. Off the line, it will feel like someone removed 2 of your spark plug wires.

What, you think because he has a supercharger, he is immune to the laws of physics?

No, but I doubt he's as worried about loss of power due to bigger tires and/or wheels than he would be if it was stock without a supercharger and a good tune. He also has the Nova if he wants to go somewhere quickly.

Not sure if he is worried about it either, and I did not say he was. But it WILL affect his performance in both power off the line and FE. That is all I was saying.

It does make a BIG difference. Blower or no blower.

And since he went to the trouble and expense of blowing his truck. My guess is he is concerned about power and performance.

Very valid points.

Go with a six inch lift and 35's.

Thanks for all the info guys! I still have some research to do, but I am probably going to go for it. I am certainly concerned about performance to a point. I can see changing it back at some point. It's kinda like Jim slamming his. I'm just in the mood for something different, but not in the mood to buy a new truck.

I see a lot of guys are running a 305/55/20. I like the looks, but that is a heavy tire. All of the tires I have looked at that are that size have been LTs. Which I probably don't need, but I would also think with the weight of my trailer the 10ply tire may be a good idea.

That seems big. I had 305/50/20's on the blue truck and had some rubbing in reverse after trimming with negative offset wheels. Pulling them in on stickers seems like problems in the making. I'd look at the 50's at most.
