I don't see how they got the head unit out without scratching it....

Oh, the bezel was ripped off more than that, thats AFTER I somewhat popped it back on as best I could. the top corner is broken, so it will not stay clipped to the dash.

At least they fingerprinted it. I hoped they would get a good fingerprint off the backside of this console piece the bastard ripped off, but they didn't. :(
The cops got a few off the door, but they said its highly likely that those may be my own prints.

Can you replace the GPS with the same unit that you had and show them the receipt for the new one?

That's what I had to do with my equipment that was stolen... I guess it is a little different. They used the on file model/serial number, factored in some depreciation and gave me a check for that. Once everything was replaced we reached a agreeable settlement. I upgraded some of my equipment from previous models but the settlement would not have been offered if I had not purchased the new equipment.

sucks to hear man. As far as future prevention (other than an alarm battery) you should check out jimmijammer.com

They make products specifically to prevent this.

If you do find out who did it be sure to :chipper:

I know. Thats the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the doorlock. I never figured I would need one since my alarm is loud as hell, has 2 sirens AND it honks the horn. Plus it has a two way pager. But none of that works if the goddamned remote doesnt have a bettery in it.

Man... it's too bad nobody was there to put a large caliber bullet in the thief's brain. :fume: It's the ONLY way to stop these criminal bastards.

Had my alarm gone off, I would have ran outside in my drawers with my .40cal Taurus.

Well, it's no consolation but at least it's all shit that can be replaced and at least they didn't do any exterior body damage.
