Good luck in the hunt! :)

Who ever gets your truck will be one lucky person. New dash and maggy would be cool to go that route as well. It would feel like a new truck.

If I can get the dash fixed pretty cheap then I'll keep this one. I have Rich looking for any possible TSBs now. There are A LOT of threads out there about this in 2007 SLT/LTZ trucks and Tahoes. There is even a facebook page for 2007 cracked dashes.

Wow some of those people posted there are over dramatic. Talking about injuries and fatalities from a cracked dash...

It seems like GM was helpful for the less douche guys by covering 50% too, so a couple hundred bucks isn't bad to try and get another year or so out of your truck.

Agreed! I might cut my finger on it while cleaning. Uh uh!!! That's a great idea. I'll sue GM for all they are worth. Jackpot

Yeah, I read through it some. Seems like any where from 50% to $200 to free. I don't think it should necessarily should be free, but if it's a known issue that has since been redesigned I don't think I should be out a grand plus.

I read about this happening a LOT over on TahoeYukonforum. It seems that the most anyone has gotten from GM was half the repair cost unless the truck was still under full factory warranty in which case they covered it 100%.

Also, if you decide to trade, I am interested in your stock wheels. Just let me know.

That would drive me bat shit crazy.

I vote for a new truck if you are considering that option. Here's my logic:

1. I don't like buying the first year of a new truck. You end up paying more due to limited rebates/incentives which results in a greater depreciation hit when it comes time to sell. Some people mention the first year bugs but my decisions are usually purely financial.

2. I keep a truck 3 years on average. Buying a '12 should keep me content until around 2015 at which point the new design will be out for a couple years and rebates will start hitting.

3. Current rebates and incentives are crazy. I bought my '08 brand new, drove it 4 years and was able to negotiate a trade in price that was only $6 less than I paid for it brand new. $1,500/yr to drive a new vehicle is pretty good IMO. In addition, the dealer came down $13k off the price of the new '12 Denali I ended up with. I can PM you my exact deal if you are interested.

It's a toss up between a Denali & LTZ/SLT. Pros/Cons for me:

Denali
Pros - Nicer leather, perforated ventilated seats are now standard, back-up camera standard, priced about the same as an equally optioned LTZ/SLT, & slightly better resale (in this area anyway)

Cons - full-time AWD (I prefer 4WD so I can play in the snow in 2WD :D), chrome overload (wheels, door molding, & door handles).

LTZ/SLT
Pros - 4WD (instead of AWD), the wheels aren't quite as ugly, painted door handles

Cons - the leather isn't as good of quality, pricing is close to the Denali if optioned the same, resale will be less than a Denali (again...that is the case in my area...could be different elsewhere).

At the end of the day, you can't go wrong with either. It was a coin toss for me.

Ok. So for now the new truck hunt is on hold. I found two good deals. One with the help of Matt. Thanks Matt! Sammy is great! I will hit him up again once im back on hunt.

I have a case number with GM and should know what the will help with in a few days. I'll keep you all updated.
