Well, my tailgate has been acting up and quit latching all together now (how convenient, on moving day...). I've soaked the latches in some PB Blaster and worked them and gave it another good soaking but it's not seeming to help much. Any ideas? :tmc:

Have you taken the bezel at the handle off to see if the rods are in the right place?

Its fairly common for the plastic clip on the end of the rod to break. Once that little clip breaks, the rod comes off the handle completely and causes no latching or unlatching at all. Pop the bezel off and check it like Matt suggested.

Bungee straps will help until you get the latch fixed for the move  :tmc:

Well usually it will latch but the handle won't open it. It is possible that the rod got jammed up against something so that it won't latch. :dunno:

Already figured that one out haha.

I'll try popping the bezel off tomorrow and taking a look at that. I'll post back and give an update. Hopefully I can get it figured out.

It's usually an easy fix.

Happened to my truck, I took the bezel off and sprayed the rods in there and has worked fine ever since.

havnt heard of em doin that. I know a couple people who really have to yank and the handle to get them to open...mines kinda hard, you have to pull the handle all the way up and it pops open...I need to WD-40 all of it. I use it quite a bit too loading and unloading stuff.
