Swap or not?

I recently got a 2002 bench seat from a kid in town. He was telling me how much he loved my sunroof and jokingly suggested we trade trucks. Well now it's not a joke anymore. He wants to trade.

My truck is a 96 with 220,000 miles. Only problems at this time is low oil pressure (about 7-10lbs). His is an 02 with 90,000 miles. It's has a 3/4 drop kit. Problem is, someone tried to change the fuel pump and didn't know what they were doing. The idiot cut every wire in the jacket and don't know which wires to reconnect. He ran a separate wire from the fuel pump to the fuse box as a temporary fix to run the truck but the lights in the back aren't hooked up. The deal at the moment is my truck and $500 for his truck. What y'all think?

Another note is mine has the 2.2 and his has the 4.3.

If you can figure out the wire diagram I say go for it, that has way less miles.

With the drop I'm definitely gonna have to pull the bed off. Thinkin about pricing getting the work done at a shop.

If they hacked up trying to change a fuel pump, what else they hacked on it? I'd go thru the truck thoroughly.

Looks like a pretty clean truck...
3 years newer...
130,000 LESS miles...
It has the 4.3 vs the 2.2...
If you know anything about wiring you can fix it pretty easy...

For only $500 difference, I would probably trade trucks ...

Like others have mentioned, if the fuel pump was hacked up, other stuff IS wrong with it. However, I would still do the deal with one caveat. Its a straight up trade...no $500 from you. If he agrees to that, I would do it for all the reasons Jim mentioned above. If you have to put some work into it, you are still in a better position...assuming a straight up trade.
