Stupid truck won't start

I checked everything, all the lights, radio.....everything worked, it sounds like the shifter cable isn't adjusted right and isn't recognizing its in park

Hell, it's not even cranking! I did tap on the starter with a wrench a few times though.

wiggled the shifter all around, still nothing,going to get dinner and then try getting under it to see about the shift linkage on the trans

Not long ago mine didn't start. I'd get one click from the solenoid and nothing else. Battery showed a full charge and all lights worked. Tried the tapping on the solenoid trick too. Turned out that it was the battery. Had a bad cell and didn't have enough amps to spin the starter.

Okay so it was my alarm, took out the brain and reconnected the starter wire that was cut and the alarm placed between the 2 and it started right up
