Don't see how not capitalizing a letter is considered to be text speak, and I understand the no all caps, well in a thread, I think in the title it would be ok and can be used to show emotions. But I'm not the one making the rules and running the place. I will honestly try to keep up on the good grammar, just habit since everything else that I type in (text messages, microsoft word, work stuff) all automatically cap the first letter.

I'm serious about the capitalization and punctuation. This is not a text conversation.

TRY and have respect for others having to read your posts. Seriously.

Almost every other member manages to do this; it's not that difficult.
Why does this bug you so much? Its like freedom of speech. You wont ask someone to shut up cuz you hate their accent. It seriously is not hurting any one.

Our community here is based upon written words. Having the words put together in an orderly fashion that make them easy to read and to understand goes a long way with people.

I'm not asking him to add odd letters or use weird symbols, just to type in the way that most everyone else does.
I read through it just fine so it doesn't bother me at all. As laid back as we are on here I don't see it being a problem. :dunno:

That's the thing. As laid back as we are, it should not be a problem to follow a few simple rules and it amazes me how many people bitch when they don't get everything on this site their way. We let almost EVERYTHING go and you guys get bent when someone asks for proper use of the English language.

It is what it is. Use punctuation and capitalization.

I know its in the rules but what Cole wrote was hardly text speak. I could understand if it was all lols and omgs. Any way we keep the peace and we all enjoy the site. :tmc:

Why do we, the owners, admins and moderators, have to justify everything to you guys?

We ask for very little compliance but when we do, everyone whines and cries. Why? While we are a very user-friendly forum, we are not user-run. Just deal with the few rules we have. It's not as though I have not tried countless times with stupid polls, shift key pictures, etc. to get the point across in a much less aggressive manner. This should not be a surprise.

New members, search results, etc. - All good reasons to use proper English, spelling and punctuation. There are things we have to think about that you guys do not. Trust us.

Here you go. I picked the wrong rule.

DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS:
There is no need to scream and that crap is hard to read. Repeatedly posting in ALL CAPS may result in pissing off the staff. DO NOT MAKE YOUR THREAD TITLES ALL CAPS! Use caps where necessary and leave the all lower case and all caps crap to the text geeks.
I'm going to add something to the title of that rule to make sure the lowercase stuff is called out too.

No offense and not trying to justify using lower case, I just don't see how a simple lowercase letter would harm anything. like I said before not justifying it and not complaining, just a bit confused as to why its such a big deal.

I don't know what to tell you guys if you don't understand why a forum that relies on typing asks that you type normally, like most folks do. Seriously.

cole, i'm gonna be in near your apartment later today (round 5ish) for college I get out around 530 and your problem sounds like the one I had with my truck. If the shifter wiggling doesn't do the trick here's what you do next, check all the electronics (like EVERYTHING) see what works and what doesn't work ie. headlights on normally will work but not the brights. and see what works and what doesn't work. Like I said it sounds similar to what I had going on with my truck, try all that out and gimme a call or text and let me know what you find out. We'll go from there but I feel like it should be an easy fix.
I feel your frustration though, my problem plagued me for a month before i figured it out and that was sheer stupidity that allowed me to solve it.
