I was following Nissan TSB NTB06-072b checking/replacing the serpentine belt auto tensioner.

Long story short their diagram shows to torque the lower bolt on the power steering pump to 42-48ft lbs.

When I went to torque it the bolt ripped the aluminum threads out. Later I checked the FSM and it says 35 ft lbs....figures.

So my question is can this be repaired? I was thinking the helicoil route but not sure. Attached picture show the bolt while in question.

I was thinking that too. It's just a long bolt that I think go's through the timing cover. Has to be 4-5 in

I got a helicoil kit. Didn't have to drill out the hole it was already the right size.

All is good now just need to put the fender well back in. I've been busy at work and when I'm not busy I'm busy. :D
