Edit: on topic I don't remember what year they started putting cats on but you will do better to get rid of the cats and leave the muffler or at least a muffler.

Well i got 2....what i've been callin' mufflers. they're both big as hell, compared to the ones off gas trucks i'm used too. So...maybe get rid of the front one?
