I know I am going to regret this but I think that I am doing the responsible thing here. It's also something that I thought I would never do but at the same time I didn't think that having kid's was in the near future either.

We both were ready down to the exact month together(Jill and I). If we didn't act knowing we were ready we probably would not be starting a family ever. So it was now or never... At least I got the easy job in this... :naughty:

The Dirtymax sat in the garage a lot over the past few months and I couldn't see having 2 payments and a mortgage on top of the $4k a month in bills I have for PEL...

It just wasn't smart holding on to it even though I know the money is there....

I will get a new one in the spring or at least so is the plan. I was a co-teacher on a Dave Ramsey course that we did in November to the Senior High Class. So with a lot of though and prayer but also a lot of planning. I would like to have the option of retiring when I am 50-55 and this will be easier achieved if I start paying cash for vehicles and investing between them... You can only invest so much on top of all your bills so consolidating was kinda enjoyable when you start thinking about the future...

I really did get a offer I couldn't refuse... And it gave me a great victory before it went... My brother got a G8 GT and he started running his mouth. He always like to do that... I only do performance to my vehicles because I enjoy it... He does it because he things he always has to be faster at the track.

So one day on a Thursday night about 4 weeks ago he was running his mouth so I said, let's take it to the track....

I gripped on 4wd and whooped his ass on the fourth setting on DSP by a car and a half or at least that is all he would give me... It was a little over 2 in my mind. His wife recorded a video but according to him she did not press the record button... :faceplam:

All he has for mods is a CAI and headers so if it had a cam it would have been a different story... He wants one though!!!

Hey man that sucks to hear but life is all about knowing how to "adapt and overcome" I never thought I would have to get rid of my truck but with the new house and probably new family on the way keeping my truck is not a smart thing to do.

I will probably let my dad have it and take over the last payments for the last 5 grand that I owe.

I will have about a 60 mile commute round trip to work everyday. Just the fuel and payment are gonna take up a huge chunk out of my check every month that I know I will need for other things( Did not have this job when we decided to get the house) and so I will probably be picking up a daily driver on the cheap and then get another truck/suv(cash like you said) that is more family friendly down the road. Regular cab trucks are not the best for a growing family.

Sounds like you made a wise choice Brian. I have gone through the same thing a couple times, selling a vehicle with a payment that is sitting for whatever reason. Hopefully you will stick with it better than I have, I always ended up regretting it and buying something else. Stick to your guns and hold off until it makes financial sense to pick another one up. This is me speaking from experience, do as I say not as I do!

Sounds like a good move. You can always get another truck later... after you buy a new Accord for your wife.

It is all for the better Brian and you made the right choice with what is in store for you in the future. Like you said, you can start planning on finding another one when the time comes. In the mean time that extra cash will come in handy.

Sounds like you've got your priorities in the right place, even though it meant getting rid of the truck.

Yeah and it's not like I am truckless.... I have 3 other trucks that I use for my work. And the 2005 Silvy 2500hd cc 4X4 will fill the gap from selling the truck...
