So, Got Bored A Couple Of Hours Ago, Right.....

As I mentioned b4 I haven't tested the sound on the CB Radio but since the speaker is now buried, I can certainly assume that my sound will not be all that good.

So, I was in my truck this morning contemplating where to add a couple of speakers and after a couple of minutes it dawn on me......

I saw this area in front of me and said to myself "hmmmm........"

Then I took the CB Radio Apart and removed the speaker....

Went back to my truck and placed it at the area I spoted a few minutes b4, placed the speaker on it and said, "mmmmmmm......I like that!"

I'll report later with the results.

Why leave it in the unit, it would have been a waste of speaker anyway. So my thoughts were to extend it to where I just installed it then use the other connection for the speaker on the passenger's door.

You won't be able to use the other connection for that because plugging anything into that one disconnects the internal (now external) speaker.

My thought was that if you use the EXT jack that makes it easy to remove the radio at a later date (just unplug as opposed to cutting wires) and keeps the radio functional if you want to put it in another vehicle. If you were to use a splitter adapter (about $3 at Radio Shack) you could then feed both speakers from the one jack.

BTW, if you need parts for it I have an older DX19 here (original model) that has a dead RF section, but everything else on it works. I'd be happy to send it to you.

I'll solder both speaker wires from the master board to feed both speakers.

I'll keep in mind your offer if I need parts. I have a secondary unit on my rhino which I'll remove the speaker to use on passenger's door.

Thankz for your concern but not to worry, I know my limits.

The speaker fits nice and tight on the hole I perforated. Once I have fitted it, I bent the excess wire to create a catch around the edges of the cut out then I added clear silicone to reassure it will stay in place.
