My 87 Cutlass was flooded up to the steering wheel in Katrina. Nobody knows for sure how long it sat in the water, but it was anywhere from 2-5 weeks. After I replaced the starter, and all battery cables along with all the fluids, it fired right up just fine. And that was salt water. Salt water is WAY more corrosive than freshwater.
So yes, I could DEFINITELY believe this with a 96 Subaru.

Haha I was talking about the part of driving it out on ice in the first place!
True.. I've seen a lot of things (online, not in person) driven out onto the ice.. That makes NO sense to me..
