So along with ALL THE OTHER fWONkIN' PROBLEMS I've had with and surrounding my transmission rebuild/replacement I crushed the end of the shift cable because I :quote: didn't need to wire it up out of the way:quote:

:frustration:

I tried fixin' it but, to no avail.:fume:

$150 at GM Dealer HALF THE PRICE shipped from Rock Auto (love that they are a sponsor). (ordered it Thurs afternoon regular ground ship "out for delivery" to my house TODAY!!!!!!! :fingertime:)

I didn't think to snap some pics but, here are some from a "How to":

How do you pop the ball joint out. Is there a retainer clip or is it just a matter of a trim panel tool/screwdriver? I don't want to pry at it and break ANOTHER component. I was looking at the lower one by the range selector and couldn't see a clip or really anything to depress for release. :dunno:

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure I remember just popping mine out, but that was also over three and a half years ago, so don't quote me on that.

I just did. LOL

I just got the cable Fed Ex and am looking at it and it does look like you just pry the old off and pop the new on. We shall see. The instructions only show how to assemble the two halves.

Should just pop off.

Ya I would think if it was clips or something the instructions would say so.
The old is fwonked anyway and it's plastic so I REALLY don't think I can mess up the metal part by prying. Just wanted to confirm. Like I said this project has been a REAL PITA!!! Murphy was working OVER TIME on this one.:fume:
