It would be a nice option, and safer as many people don't have the sense to at least glance at their tires every morning before driving off. Maybe I'm the crazy, but I at least eyeball mine every morning. :dunno:

as long as it's not another bogus thing (like TPMS) that discount tire is gonna tack on to my bill then I'm fine.

TPMS is bogus?

Mine has always worked well and even informed me once of a puncture long before I damaged the tire or ended up in an accident.

I'm a big fan.

I don't check mine as a daily ritual but I do look at them as I approach from time-to-time just because. As for the "most people" comment, yeah, I'm with you. It seems like half of the vehicles I ride behind clearly have under-inflated tires.

:withstupid: I like the GM system where I can read the pressure, rather than a dummy light that goes off, though.

I used to always walk around my vehicle and 'look' at my tires before driving. Now I don't. I don't see that as lazy. Why put smoke detectors in your house? Too lazy to walk around and make sure your house isn't on fire???? :dunno:

If it remains optional, I think it's a cool idea.

If the Gov decides to ram it down everybody's throat like they did TPMS I think it's bullshit. I do like TPMS... just don't think we need everything mandated by another law..

That's the same thing I see a lot too. I told a lady the other day at the gas station one of her tires looked like it needed air pretty bad. She informed me that her that the "little half round thingy" had been lit for the past week. I told her that was her that was a warning letting her know she needed air. She had NO CLUE what it meant, and never bothered to look in the manual. :wtf?:

The main reason I check like I do is because it's hard to tell with my tires if they're low or not.

I look at mine every time I walk up to the car.
It's just a habit...
My Father was in the tire business most of his life, and I drove big trucks for a few years.
Checking / looking at tires (mine and other vehicles)... is just a habit with me.... :D

I really don't trust the TPS. When I had my '07 and switched wheels and tires for winter/summer, it took the truck at least 20 minutes of driving to realize there were no sensors in my summer wheels.

The receiver just listens for the transmitters, that's all it does. When it doesn't receive a transmission for an extended period of time, it signals an error. Given that the transmitters only transmit intermittently (on a variable schedule, mind you) and/or when there's a change in pressure, this seems perfectly logical.
