But it will be much longer than that before it becomes reality... if it ever does... :dunno:
The infrastructure has to be built into the roads before the self driving cars can use it... and THAT'S gonna take a while...

Yeah.. I (vaguely) remember reading about "self driving cars" in Popular Science (I think it was) back in the 80's.. They were supposedly "right around the corner" then.. :dunno:

Might be kinda like the Hydrogen cars....
The fuel companies don't want to build out the infrastructure because there are so few cars...
People don't want the cars yet because there is no infrastructure to get them refueled...

The old chicken and egg thing....

I don't see how they can have this working by 2018. I honestly don't know how they could. Are they to model it after a certain persons driving habits, routes, etc? :lol:
