It can be done but I really don't think you want to deal with the headache required to get it to work and from what I've read, it can be buggy.

I don't know why they would say that other than the fact that they want you to buy a T-mobile phones. There are quite a few videos of verizon s4 phones being used on t-mobile on youtube. If a phone is locked which I don't think this phone is there are ways to obtain free unlock codes to unlock the phone.

The android forums are lit up about these phones s3/s4 not needing to be unlocked because of the compatibility of the network settings.

-Global

-LTE/CDMA

-LTE/GSM/UMTS

By selecting the appropriate network setting and turning the phone off, insert new sim card and turning it on. From what I have read the phone will work. Internet will not until you go in and change the APN settings.

All of this is done be going into settings, network mode and select the appropriate network listed above.

Once this is done you go into settings/access point names/select "vzwinternet" and change it to tmobiles apn settings.

Here is a link. Inserted my T mobile sim card into my unlocked ... | T-Mobile Support

If it were me, I would give it a try. If I were you, Jeff, I'd probably not do it based on the above info.

What I can do is try my brothers t mobile sim card. This will allow me to see if the phone is unlocked.

I really don't know what to say about tmobiles response.

Yeah guys like what Daddy said, I don't think it is worth it. All of Verizon's LTE phones are unlocked. They were forced to by the FCC to obtain the LTE network.

The only issue I see with this is that you will only get 3G speeds online. The LTE from verizon works on a different frequency than AT&T and Tmobile.
