Roof Rack :)

So a few months ago i wanted to do a whole roll cage and roof rack and after talking to my dad he said no way he wants to do a roll cage because he would get too worried because with a roll cage he thinks i would do worse things

but he said a roof rack is fine.....

so i showed him a little drawing of what i wanted to make and he said, "make a more detailed print and i will help you make it" and by that he also meant getting the material also

so right now i am doing a little blue print that is as detailed as i have ever been, its not a computerized thing or anything so its not that great but im drawing it and everything and its coming out amazing!

it consist of 11-13 off roading lights, halogen ones for now maybe even it that, tire mount, jack mount, shovel mount, and any other thing i can figure to put on it


hopefully my dad keeps his word

Be VERY careful designing how/where it will mount, especially since you are putting a tire mount up there and might be carrying quite a bit of additional weight as well. I know a guy who had a roof rack tire mount built for his F350, and they didn't get the mounts close enough to support areas in the roof of the truck, and it collapsed it. Just my $.02.

Yeah, I would put internal supports if your going to mount that much stuff on top. You could build the equivalent of a jeep roll bar like what you see on the hardtops (at least for the CJs, haven't looked in a new jeep).
