Not worth it. A strongly built 5.3L will only get you to stock 6.0L power and will cost just as much to do.

Might as swap in a 6.0 and leave yourself room for improvement.

i agree with 184k i would look into a new truck. But if you dont i think XD spys with some nice mud tires of your choice would be bada**..

I'm in the same vote so dont feel bad. i dont want a new truck really but i will be traveling a lot and need to take advantage of this chance.

haha yea mine too. i seen a allterrain sierra today and it was crazy nice. totally custom from the dealer probably one of the few trucks i'd drive stock

I've contemplated the same thing and i've decided to keep my truck and mod it. Think about it...drive a new truck and roll stock for who knows how long and look like every other truck on the road or keep your truck, and mod the hell out of it and have a one-of-a-kind truck that every knows it you. My truck's 25 years old, so i don't have to worry about a payment. I have 185,xxx miles too but I'm planning on a new engine rebuild sometime in the near future.
