This is a very easy job to do at home with a few simple tools. You will see my inner fenders are removed but that was for another repair. They can remain in. Spray all hardware with penetrating oil to assist in disassembly.

I used a pair of side cutters and trimmed back the cotter pin on the ball joint castle nut then pulled the pin out of the ball joint with needle nose pliers. Remove the castle nut. Use a pickle fork tool to remove the ball joint from the spindle. Be sure to support the spindle with a floor jack since the tension bars will not be prevented from over-rotating.

I then removed the two bolts that hold it to the frame. These bolts are used for adjusting the front alignment. I mark the around the bolts with paint marked to get them as close as I can then send the truck for an alignment

Install in reverse order trying to get the alignment bolts as close to original as possible. Don't forget to install the provided cotter pin in the ball joint castle nut.

Install the grease fitting and grease the ball joint. Repeat on the opposite send and take to an alignment shop.
