Rebuilding the ATV "Audiopipe"

Alright, for you guys that haven't heard of the ATV audiopipe, check out my old thread first: http://www.truckmodcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4185

The left-channel of the cheapo Pyramid amp I was using decided it only wanted to work part time, and of course my dumbass glued both elbows onto the pipe so I had to break one of them to get the amp out. Next time I'm just going to use silicone sealant on one side.

Anyways, I'm not going to bother with another Pyramid amp, considering when I helped a friend build one of these pipes, we went through two DOA amps before we got a good one. However I found these compact 2x100w amplifier boards on PartsExpress that look really promising (although it would only be 2x50w at best since it's rated at 24 volts). That amp will fit with no problem, but I'm not sure how I should mount it inside the pipe. In the other thread, you can see I mounted the Pyramid amp to a 2x4, slid it into the pipe, and ran screws through the bottom of the pipe into the 2x4. Obviously, I can't do that in this situation. My idea is to either glue the board to the 2x4, or find some soft rubber spacers to isolate the board from the 2x4. Anybody else have some ideas?

that sounds like a good idea, rubber mounts....less vibration...

It looks like it has mounting holes at all 4 corners, why not run some screws through those holes and use some washers as spacers to keep the board up off the 2X4? You won't see any more vibration in the electronic board than you will the 2X4, so if you can fasten it tight to the 2X4 and isolate the vibration it sees you would be better off. Your damper (rubber isolator) won't be big enough on the electronic board to isolate much vibration.

I just looked at the boards. I'd use rubber washers and some screws.

Update!

I used some small rubber grommets on #6 screws to mount the amp board. The amp works great and is holding up to the abuse I've thrown at it so far. It's also very noticeably loud than the old Pyramid amp.
