Rearview cameras in all new cars by 2014

In the summer time when it is really hot out you can park and get a peep show when girls walk in cameras view. They don't know and you can't get caught!

The only problem is now we'll have people backing up using just the cameras.. And that means they'll be backing into more stuff/ taking off mirrors/ not seeing whats coming at them from the sides, etc...

You are exactly right. This "make us safe" technology will probably result in more stuff getting backed into... Our Government at work!

Its just like all the rest of the technology we use.. If you were driving a first gen camaro at 120 around a curve and rolled it, you were dead! Nowadays with a 5th gen you just get a wrecked car, and are kinda sore. Sure, it's good you didn't die, but if you used the same common sense as was had with the older car, you would just drive safer, right?

Safety is a good thing. Knowing how to design automobiles that protect us in a collision is a good thing... but taking away personal responsibility with "lane departure warnings" "backup cameras" "automatic parking" and other voodoo accessories does nothing but make drivers worse when it comes to skill.

We design everything based on the most incompetent idiot these days so we don't get sued.
