Rear main brake line length

As an FYI post, the length of brake line needed for the main line going to the rear brakes in a regular cab, short bed '93 ('88-'98?) Chevrolet Silverado is 11 feet (you might get by with 10 feet). 1/4" (7/16"-24 thread per inch) 72 inch long and a 60 inch line lengths (possibly 48 inch) need to be used.

The 72" piece needs to start at the rear so the joint falls in an accessible location in the frame rail. The remaining distance to the union from the master cylinder/antilock assembly can be made with the 60 inch length with a compensating loop made to take up the slack if using the factory flanges (a 48" length might do with minor bends to take up the slack).

This is a reference estimate for line replacement.
