So I met with a new powdercoater today.
Wasn't sure what to do with the color/powder on the A Arm and Skidplate Frames. I thought the color came out lighter than the swatch I had ordered, and I'm not sure of the quality of the powdercoating plus it needs a clear top coat, so I asked him to strip and recoat them for me.
He recommended a color called Bonded Black Chrome, I've heard of it but never really looked at many samples. He provided me with a sample there at the shop and it did look really cool. So I'm going with it. So, going forward my truck won't have any metallic sparkles anywhere on it (I think Tobias will be content with that)
Some fine examples of Bonded Black Chrome powdercoat I found.
The skidplate has the heavy silver on it. So they are polishing the s/s on the front to a mirror finish as well as the edges and leaving the powder on the back of the plate for added protection since it won't be seen anyway. They showed me an example of some s/s they had recently polished for a customer and it looked as reflective as chrome but had that darker s/s look.

Oh, and I dropped off the springs at my original pcoater since this new guy wasn't confident about using the NIC chrome powder, and he was surprisingly happy to see me.

New powdercoater sent me this pic he just did these MB wheels in the blackchrome.
The black chrome looks good.
