It was a reman. they gave me a free replacement, the bad one blew a fuse in the power distribution box, replaced that and put the new alternator in and it works great now, drove it around a bunch today and man is it fast! With proper tuning it's prob got another 40hp in it at least

I would hope so with all the parts you have in it.
I imagine it's fun to drive after sitting so long.

Yeah I guess I've been having a little too much fun with it, apparently yesterday someone called the police to complain about a loud truck driving up and down the road, today I drove it up into the back into the back field and got it stuck in some mud, walked back to the garage and got the front drive shaft, installed it in the field and just after I got it out of the mud I broke the u-joint on the front drive shaft

I'm guessing you're running straight headers

Well I don't know exactly what this storm has in store for us, but I put the front driveshaft back in just in case, it will light up for tires and get sideways in the dirt now, fun times!

Small update:
-started pricing new brakes, looks like about $400 for ATE slotted rotors and Hawk LTS pads
-also started looking up parts to build a cold air intake, but I need a mass air meter calibrated for 30 lb injectors first
-I plan to order an SCT XCal III tuner from Henson Performance for this truck
-I'm not happy with the open differentials so I'm going to start work on the explorer axle swap soon, which will give me a 31 spline 4.10 LS, and I'll also get 4.10s and possibly a locker put in my spare front axle, and I'll swap that axle in myself
-I also need to make a new cross member for the rear of the truck without a hump, this will give me room to run dual 2.5" exhaust pipes to flowmaster mufflers
-I need to get the hood painted to match the truck
-I have a bunch of wiring to clean up
- I need to find a permanent location for the oil filter
-I need a bigger fuel pump and bigger fuel line, which will allow me to use the billet rails I have, the fuel pressure takes a substantial dive whenever I rev the engine

Getting the engine in running and driveable was a big obstacle which is now out of the way but I still have a lot of work to do

That's quit a list. Hope you keep posting as you go along.

Oh I certainly will, I would like to get started cleaning up my rear axle this weekend and get it under the truck sometime this month
