I just bought a new tow vehicle, and it has this trick looking differential cover on it.

Does anyone know when Ram started using this aluminum differential cover? And what models does it come on? Is it just the 3500 dually with the 850 ft lbs Cummins, like mine? Or is it also used on single rear wheel 3500s and 2500s? Just wondering, because I haven't seen one of these on another truck, at least not from the factory. I've seen the Mag Hytech differential covers, but this is OEM.

Nice truck!

New to me also on Ram's part. It is a nice upgrade to keep the fluid cooler and I think it might add extra as well, which is always a plus.

It's included with the max tow package on the 3500 dually. From what I can tell, the package is not available on SRW models.

Nice new tow rig!

Ok, thanks for the info. That explains why I don't see any other new trucks driving around with this diff cover on them. The number of duallys with the max tow package is pretty limited compared to all the other Ram trucks on the road.
