Zem, maybe it's different down there but you'd be surprised how much cops can bring in. If they are saying 100K base salary then I agree on the BS but with budget cuts and hiring freezes there is enough overtime available for cops that pretty much anyone that wants to work for it is bringing in about 100K here. Base salary out of school is between 50 and 60K.

The police force and fire fighters are smart mofos. They plan vacations around each other so they can get overtime a lot. Really helps them double their income. The news channels were/are investagating them as of lately with the recent budget cuts in vegas.
