heheh Miata thread... I owned a '96 for a good many years. I had the Flyin' Miata 12psi turbo kit on it. I don't think I ever had it fully tuned correctly, but it would run neck and neck with a Z28 to 100 miles an hour.
The car is great fun even in stock form. I ended up putting a hard dog rollbar on it, a real rollbar not them silly style bars, tokico 5 setting adjustable suspension (lowered the car about 1" with that set), borla cat-back stainless steel exhaust, jackson racing performance header.
I ended up getting pulled over (I was a lot younger and dumber back then) doing 80+ with the turbo down a 55mph street. He politely informed me he could impound my car and arrest me on the spot. I thanked him for a 70mph speeding ticket.
After that I took the turbo off and sold it on ebay. Had a couple mechanical issues, I can't even recall. Baby came along, car sat. Finally got it back together and running and then spun a bearing. Gave it away with all of the equipment above to a young kid for $500. I kind of miss it, but with 3 kids now, not a real practical car.
Now my practical car is a 2005 Chevrolet Express.

Well my kids are all grown and gone. This makes Miata number five for us.
