Need any help with wiring info hit me up foo, wiring up the tach scares some folks off but it's not that bad. Hell I'll send you the resistor for it, the local Radio Shack didn't have the right one.

Sounds good! If you need a hand with anything, let me know, I'm always willing to take things apart and put other things together.

Also, I want to do a full photoshoot of your truck this summer some time.

Thanks man,
I made a living in 12 volt electrical for better than 20 years, hope I can figure it out! :ohnoes:
Nevertheless, I may pick your brain for something, I'm sure!

Thanks Dan, Just a few questions, about the cam swap.

...and that fancy valvespring tool. :D2

The swap isn't planned till end of summer, so she'll be rollin' around TBI style for photoshoots.

Screw that I hate wiring now

Prior to the engine swap the most extensive work I had ever done on my truck was install shorties...so that should tell you it was pretty straightforward!

Now get to buying parts

Any cam questions you've got I'll be glad to try to answer. I'm no expert, but I'll be able to send you in the right direction. Any idea what cam you're going to run?

As for the valve spring tool, Billy, the guy I borrowed the tools from passed away this winter. I do have a harmonic balancer puller that I never got a chance to give back to him that you can borrow if you need it.

I have to make some calls about a cam. As I recall, you used Texas Speed...Right?

Yeah, I met Billy and went to a couple cruise nights with him. :halo:

What are you looking for in your cam? Nice idle? Choppy? Low end grunt? High revver?

A choppy idle would be kinda cool, but it's not the first priorty. I'm looking for bottom to mid range torque. At 70 mph (or so) If someone on the highway in front me slows down, or comes into my lane, I tap the brake and the converter unlocks, Its like pulling a parachute. :frustration: and I have to start aaalllllllllllll over again. so I need to lay back into it and get it moving again.

High revver? In a 6000 pound truck?!?!? I'm not going racing!:crackup:I drive this truck a lot, and long distances, so I have to try to factor in some economy as well.

...I want it all! :jester:
