Let me start off by saying i know vehicles inside/out. As a mechanic, i already know what the number one response is going to be... FREON. So if you only read the title of this thread and want to tell me it's freon under my jeep, don't bother posting; read the rest first

The vehicle is a 2008 Liberty Sport 4x4. Does NOT have rear HVAC (i know that was going to be the second guess )

After i plowed the driveway i decided to play in the jeep and ended up getting it stuck a few feet into the yard (i'll post pics soon). When i got out of the jeep i noticed neon green puddles in the driveway.... figured it was my son spilling some juice.... but he didn't have a juice cup :uhoh:

Already i thought to myself.... damn, did i rip off an A/C hose or something???

I crawled under the back of the jeep to hook up a tow strap and saw a bunch of neon green snow :(. Figured i'd pull the jeep out and figure out where it was coming from..... that's where it gets interesting....

Pulled the jeep out...

There was no neon green snow forward of the back seat area and it seemed to be concentrated around the muffler location :wtf:

Pop the hood and crawl under the jeep and cant find ANY neon green fluid/trails/snow/etc. Being that there's snow everywhere you'd expect it to be easy to find the original of a neon green leak :dunce:

Ok... so maybe there's something weird going on and the condensation coming out of the muffler has a green tint. So i let it run for 10 minutes. NOPE, everything dripping is clear.

Ok... maybe there's something weird going on with the brake fluid since the 4x4 uses the ABS to control traction. Throw it in 4x4 and get the tires spinning in the driveway (snow/ice covered). Rock it back and forth for a few minutes. NOPE, no more green fluid.

So here I am... wondering :wtf?: caused neon green spots under the rear section of my jeep

Do you own a blacklight?

You might try pulling it in the garage and using one to see if you can tell where it's coming from.

That's all I've got. :dunno:

Maybe you ran through someone else's junk and it splashed up under your Jeep? :dunno:

Either that or maybe you whacked a REALLY short Vulcan and he bled all over your muffler? :jester:

We should start taking bets!

I took a bunch of the green snow and put it in a container. Figure once it melts and separates i'll have more clues to figure it out

Nevermind, I should read better.

Maybe it's some dealer under-body spray-on crap they put on there? :dunno:

Under body is clean. Plus, when we first got the jeep i looked over every square inch of it....

I'm starting to lean towards brake fluid and it just has a green tint because it's mixing/dissipating in the snow. But the brakes are firm. I'll look at it again later to make sure

Don't know how it will look on your computer screen... but on mine it looks more yellow than green. So the color may not be representative of what it actually looks like.

If it was brake fluid and leaking that much you should be down in your reservoir.

What does it smell like?

Do you have any dogs in the area that might have pissed right there? That's just so odd, especially since it's not still leaking anything.
