Paint your tail lights black!

It never ceases to amaze me how many people (for whatever reason) think it looks cool to have blacked out lights. They look as horrible as blacked out wheels to me.

This is normally the result.

Well. It was a cut up and tubbed back half. I doubt it took much to fold up the bed after they cut the floor out of it.

Don't get me wrong here... I feel for the guy who went to all of the trouble to build what looks like a very nice rig, but blacking out tail lights to look cool seriously limits the person behind you from seeing you hit the brakes.

I've even seen insurance companies deny claims when people have blacked out lights.

Black tail lights are fine if they are LED... they are very bright.. now painting normal bulb tail lights... yes not a good idea.

Worst part is, Josh just got it back from paint. Sucks but yeah, diminish the factory safety features and you are asking for trouble.
He's at the hospital now getting checked out.

The Hella LED are the only ones I have seen that have a DOT stamp on them, and the portion over the reflector isn't as dark. Are the ReCons legal?

Agreed on topic, I nearly rear-ended a Ford a while back at mid-day, I just couldn't see the lights.
