P0449 Vent Solenoid

I bought all the required parts to replace the vent solenoid on my 2006 Chevy Silverado Lt. but cannot find the location on my truck.


I viewed the posted video and looked in the area that the video shows. I also pulled the cover on the charcoal canister but still cannot locate.


Is there another area where the solenoid vent canister is located? Would appreciate any info.

It should be next to the canister. Mines an '04 so a bit different, but its mounted on it or a bracket right next to it off the frame rail.

If you follow the larger tube off the canister it leads to the solenoid.

It seems as though the solenoid moved around depending on year and body style. On my 05 Ext. Cab short bed, it was hanging off the back of the gas tank, IIRC. I seem to remember someone in the big thread saying his was located up near the cab on a regular cab truck, and that it was a PITA to get at.
