Truth be told, I was looking more at Suburbans and Tahoes. But, the dealers I talked to wouldn't do an employee discount for me. So.... "screw it! Buy what I want!" And I did. :D2

Just messin' with ya! The price of every damn one of them is just shocking these days

Exactly! Half tons are about the price of 3/4 tons if you spec 'em out too much. Get something that's built stronger and maybe it'll last longer for me! I think this RAM is the most solid vehicle I've ever owned and I don't mean that in a bad way (bad ride or anything like that). It's just very well built and I like it that way.

 :D

Oh, I believe that, too.

The biggest issue with my '15 HD was the damn mag chloride, and calcium chloride used on the roads. I did not do enough to keep it clean in the winter, and it was rotting from the bottom up.

The 2nd issue was the paint. I would leave it for 3-4 weeks at a time in our lot at work, no cover of any kind. The UV finally got to it, and the paint was peeling off. Some places had 6" strips gone.

There were a couple of other "issues" that made me want to get rid of it, nothing major, but the cost of putting it all back in clean shape far outweighed desire since we just rarely towed heavy any longer.

Mechanically, it was a great rig. MY NEGLECT of the body/exterior happened slowly, and I was traveling so much in my work truck that I just missed it.

I was fortunate that the market for that used truck was strong, and I could not pass up the deal I was offered.

I will take good care of little half ton :)

The 420 HP/640 TQ is there if we want to drag another trailer.

Loving the Active Exhaust mode! May not even have to buy exhaust :)

The Macan's transmission started making some odd noises while shifting sometimes... feeling like it may be slipping. I didn't have the money to replace the transmission AND I couldn't find anyone to put an extended warranty on it. Sooooo, I took advantage of the used car trade in values just as a lot of the "market adjustment" stuff ended... So, I did pretty well on trading in the Silverado and the Macan.

I'm a firm believer in oil spraying the under carriage. My truck is a 2011 and has no rust.

Man, this is not simple salt, and is pure rot not just rust

This mixture actually burns the metal black and just rots holes in aluminum

The taxpayers freak out when a flake of snow flies, and out come the tankers spreading this shit until it puddles on the roadway

Never seen anything like it
