Those are nice power upgrades from the Gen III/IV engines. Wonder if those economy numbers are attainable in the real world?

GMC definitely looks better IMO. Will be interesting to see how these newer ultralight trucks hold up.

Same efficiency ratings as the 290hp/260lb-ft 3.6L V6 in my Jeep and I can hit 21-22 pretty regularly on the highway at 70-75mph. It doesn't have to shut half the engine off to hit that though and since it doesn't have AFM there isn't a big drop off after a certain speed where 4 cylinders doesn't make enough torque to keep it moving through the wind. I'd still pimp one though...if I couldn't find a 6.2! :naughty:

I wish they'd hurry the hell up and show the new 'hoe.

Getting better fuel mileage than a ecoboost doesn't really say much. I know a lot of guys that complain about the EB's fuel mileage.

I bet they average about 17 as well!

I work with a guy who has an Ecoboost, and he is averaging 15-17 mpg in most driving. He says the best he ever got was 21 running 60 with a tailwind. It's a totally stock ECSB 4x4, so it's not like he is running mods that would kill the mpg. He is so happy with the mileage that he parked the truck and bought a Cruze to run around in.

The new powertrain lineup in the GM models does look promising, but I am still not fond of the styling. :tmc:

I will never understand that mentality, personally. How does a car payment help?
