Nova- What kind of trailers do you haul your race cars on? Are they open air car haulers or enclosed?

I have a open 18ft car hauler made by Challenger trailers. They are great. In our car club we have bought about 15 of them. I personally have had 2. First one got stollen.

Dad sold his Challenger and bought a Cargo Craft 28ft enclosed car hauler.

I'm close to buying a PJ 7712, myself.

They frames are very sturdy and well built. I also like the lay flat gate and he spring assist.

Never seen a Big Tex so I can't say much on that one.

The PJ 7712 is the exact one I'm close to buying. The dealer was closed today when I went to look so I had plenty of time to check them over good. I'm very impressed with the welds (at least on the one I saw). I agree that the lay flat gate is nice. I also like that the sides can be removed so it can double as a flat bed trailer if I have something over-sized to haul. They also put more marker lights on the trailer than other brands I've looked at.

I'm going to the trailer dealer tomorrow afternoon and will try to talk them into throwing in a dolly jack so I can push it around in the garage. Either way, I think this is the one I'm buying.

They are $1,525 around here. Is that close to the price that you are seeing?

I picked up a freshly built PJ 7712 single axle utility trailer last night.

Specs:
  • 77" x 12'
  • Channel frame
  • 3500 lb axle
  • Removeable aluminum fenders
  • Removeable side rails
  • 2' dovetail with 4' spring-assisted gate
  • LED lighting upgrade

The dealer was around 120 miles away one way. It pulled great on the way home and I'm pleased so far with the LED lights.

I'll find out how it handles a load this weekend.

No pics yet. I rolled into the garage about midnight last night and pics didn't even cross my mind. I'll get some tonight.
