New truck!

He wanted a truck with a topper.
He wants to build a little shelf deal and bed platform back there (that will collapse so you can you use the bed). I think he should leave it for a while and go from there, I know he will be using the bed to its fullest though. He filled the back with grass after mowing some lawns with a buddy tonight, smells like death now.

I think it looks good with the topper. It will be nice, especially in the winter.

Neither of the reverse lights are working. Any ideas? I didn't have time to check the bulbs, didn't start there because both were out, figured it was something else. Called up the previous owner, he said he never noticed it, drove the truck alone always. He called back a few minutes later and said when he was down there to do some clutch work he had to unplug stuff from the tranny, every connection is solid though. Clancy is leaving it with me tomorrow so I can figure it out, I will follow the wires back to see if I find anything, change the bulbs too.

Nick, replace the "reverse light switch" mounted on the driver's side of the trans. Very easy to do. They always wear out and after 189k and 14yrs, I'm sure its well past due. Maybe a $20 part TOPS at AutoZone (might even be $10).

The switch is a ball-in-socket thing. When the shifter hits it, the ball gets pushed in making contact. Even if its plugged in, the inside connection still corrodes/wears out.

Its a smaller, 2-wire plug. Use an open-end wrench on it. I'll go check mine from my S10 (K1500's used the same trans with a minor difference in gearing).

My 15/16 wrench fits, but its slightly big; 20mm is too small; probably 21mm.
My Duralast part # DR4029.
Yours might be the same, but double check online to be sure.

Yours is the same DR4029 and its $10.

But the sensor for an Auto is different than a Manual isn't it? I though it was.

I replaced the one on my S10 2wks after buying it.
