Well as of today a Jakes Performance 4L80e is on its way.

My 1st and 2nd are slipping. I'll get the kit and billet shafts and hopefully do it myself.

You get you a stage 3? Transbrake?

No. They recommended the stage 2 for mine. No transbrake since I don't plan on ever doing more than a pass or two to see what it will run.

They are also building me a converter.

I'm a bit heavier, so 3 was recommended. I also had Chris at Circle D spec the converter. I'm just waiting for something to let go so I can pull the trigger.

Did you talk to Jakes?

The customer service is great there. I was very impressed. Right now they have free shipping and $250 off if you buy a converter and trans.

I did a while back when I first logged some slipping. With the slowdown in the oilfield, I am holding out till I break...unless we start making money again.

Will there be a burnout involved? :dunno:

Actually with this transmission, it's a possibility. That 4L70 has been part of my concern.
