Look what I snagged.

Ugh....Yeah, the one in the middle. :D2
My company sold it to me for $120. Got 277K on the clock and knowing how the techs take care of things, there well (un)kept miles. Should save me on gas though, plus now my truck can have some down time while I fix up and upgrade a few things.

The bad... Inside...and the outside is filthy. Radiator was empty and rusted bad. I knew about this and is prepared. Wipers don't work, just found this out AFTER I just spent $30 on blades. Actually $117 for a flush solution, coolant, oil and blades. The engine compartment is caked with crud, so a good cleaning is needed. CEL is on, bout to hook up my HPT to diagnosis.

This bitch is already nickle and diming me. :D2

The good. It has a radio that works...sort of. The one in my truck shorts out. The one in the van just doesn't turn off. It rides smoother than the HD fur sure.

The real bad.... Im already looking for a small turbo to slap on. :(

It sounds like you knew what you were getting yourself into when you bought it. Hell, for $120 you didn't do to bad. You can put a few hundred in it and have you a pretty decent work car. :dunno:

Yeah, we had a few minivans running as "work trucks". They got beat up pretty bad.

All it has to do is hold out while I do some maintenance on my truck, its all good. On my days off, I pick my daughter up at school, so I don't have enough time to do much. I do think I can pull, rebuild, and install my transmission in a few hours.

I had an old 1965 VW Bug in high school. After putting five engines in that thing in less than a year...I was pretty hard on it...I was able to R&R an engine in less than an hour by myself.

So the old POS minivan is gone. I purchased an 06 Hoe 2WD for the GF to ride around in. Its got everything but the sunroof and Bose . Got 160k on the clock and in pretty good shape. Its got the Castech heads, so they leak coolant. Not bad, but just enough to see.

So far I added added the vette servo upgrade. Did some data logs and will start 'tooning' it shortly.

So 'ere you go Jeff. Don't gripe about the pics. The 50* temps, is flipping cold for my coonass self.

When I got it.

Picked up some brand new '16 Suburban take off 20's with tires for $500. The POS Dextero's on there are worthless. I just gotta swap the tire sensors.

Nice. My favorite year of 'hoe, hands down. If I could find a clean '06 with 100K on it, I would snag it.

Congrats!

Nice find.

I never checked to see if my heads were the Castech ones. But per Terry Dyson of Dyson Analysis recommending putting in the GM coolant tabs. So I have. I also want to say I read online back when I was researching them that GM put the tabs in at the factory as a safe guard due to the difference in an iron block and aluminum heads. Not sure how true that is.

All my UOA's have been coming back fine. No issues and no coolant in the oil.

I changed out all my original hoses this summer since mine is an 02 and 168k on it. I put in the coolant tabs and a bottle of AMSOIL's Coolant Boost.
