I will start this off by saying I am no longer a big fan of the BFG Long Trail TAs. They did not wear well at all. Rotated every 5000 to 8000 miles and I only got 30,000 miles out of them. Once they had some wear the wet traction was all but useless. So, I contacted a friend of ours that is also a hot rodder and owns a custom truck shop in Oklahoma. He sales a lot of tires and he has been having very good luck with Mastercraft tires. He sales all tire brands, but for the cost he really likes these. He worked me a very good buddy deal on them and I couldn't resist trying them. Cheap enough that if I decide to trade my truck in a couple months I will have no hesitations.

So here they are. Mastercraft HTP. They are a Cooper brand. I have only had them for one day, but initial impressions are good. I really like the looks and they are much quieter than the BFGs. I will keep you updated as they wear.

I wish you luck. I will never have Mastercraft tires, again.

We are on year 4 of the BFG Longtrails on the Tahoe, I will have to check mileage, but I am guessing they are in the 30K range. Better than half tread left, I would have to say, and wearing nice and even.

That blows about your set, Robert.

New skins look good man

I hope they do ok too. I have never had a set (and may never have another set  ). I was really surprised with the wear on these BFGs. I still love BFG. I have had multiple sets and will not rule them out on my next purchase, but this batch did not due well. I had more miles on the stock Goodyear LS2 tires and they looked better when I took them off.

I don't know what to expect with these but I like the looks, sound and ride thus far. I will update in a few months though.

I hope you have better luck with them than I did.

Wear issues, side wall, blow outs???

They developed bulges with plenty of tread still on them. One tire split apart after I took the wheels off the truck. I would never buy them again.

That is exactly what happened to mine! I had the MT (in a 10 ply), and I had them on for about 1000 miles when I developed this gnarly vibration. I check everything, even went after wheel bearings. Finally found the separated belt. Dealer SUCKED, worked this pro-rate abortion deal with me, and I went to their AT tire.

A year later, fully loaded, camper in the back, and weighing around 10,000 pounds I get the vibration again. Made it back to town, same damn thing.

Dealer was cool this time, and I went with Firestone Destination HT 10 ply tires. Got 60,000 miles out of those when I traded the truck.

Looks good!

Never had Long Trails, but my AT's lasted me 60k. I really like my Michelins. But then they cost way more than your MC's!
