I used to do the map thing, and still carry current ones in my truck as part of my "Redundancy is good, redundancy is good, redundancy is good" approach to being prepared, but for everyday ease of use a GPS is my go-to navigation assistant.

Annnnd... I went ahead and pulled the trigger on both of those units last night, along with three year "U Fwonk It, We Fix It" warranties and hard cases for each. Just a little over $500. The wife will be mildly pissed at me but I put it on my Amazon card so I have 6 months interest free to pay for 'em, which we can easily do.

I may not give her hers until Christmas though. :D2

I keep a couple "dead tree" maps in the truck (yes, I know how to fold them too) but mainly use the nav system in the truck (need to get an updated DVD for that) and on my phone. Or I'll just print a map before I leave.

Got my new GPSs today... Damn that 2797 is a big fugger. Gonna make it a lot easier to see for these tired old eyes.
