Plenty of reasons. Many have money, but no balls.

And those of us with no money and huge balls? :D

That's what I figured, but it still doesn't make sense to me. Build a milder car if you can't handle it. :dunno:

It also could have been that the owner didn't have much seat time in the car and wanted to see what it could do in the hands of an experienced driver... I know the owner has taken it down the track but not many times.

You betcha
Because when I'm shooting for a specific record, and have lots of money it would be much easier to have a more experienced driver take my shot.

You could tell he was fighting that car hard all the way down the track.

Don't think the owner has any problem with his balls being too small.... I believe this is him driving and not lifting

owner/driver?

Ya sometimes the owners/builders don't drive. It can be many different things. I was once drag racing a car with a buddy of mine, and we were a kinda team like effort. He put in most of the money, and I some money and mostly did a lot of building and pit crew work. And our car wasn't nearly this fast for sure, but I wasn't so hot on driving, and never did drive it. I just didn't care about the driving. As a kid I was big on any kind of driving and mostly road racing/autocross stuff, but as the years went by I kinda lost my interest in driving and just like the building. Dont' know why. I barely drive the trucks I build, but some driving for sure.

But an 8 second car can definitely be different. I'm not an expert and the rules change etc, but generally speaking I believe there are physical exams to get a drag racing license to go this fast. I'm sure that varys regarding different sanctioning bodies and tracks etc. And definitely not everyone can do it. It takes training and experience to go this fast. Many go to drag racing schools to earn certification etc. And maybe the owner will do that some day, and maybe they're already heading that way. But sometimes the car is ready to be tested and a driver is needed who is licensed etc. So its hard to know all , but there could be many reasons.

And also lots of people don't want to go that fast!! That's crazy fast and isn't for everyone. I couldn't do it! :dunno:
