If you're looking for snow traction on a year-round use tire, the Nokian WR is the way to go. I've used the original WR and the next generation G2, now they have a G3. They come in a 255/60R18, which is only slightly shorter sidewall.

Very few other all-season tires have the severe weather moutain/snowflake rating. I have them on our Jeep Wrangler for plowing snow. I ran them on a fleet of E150 vans. My wife has them on her CR-V. They're not quite as good as most "real" snow tires, but I've seen a few tire comparisons that rank them higher than some dedicated snows. They're better in the white stuff than any other all season I've tried. Yes, they're expensive but tires are cheaper than fenders and increased insurance premiums.

I've got the Rotiivas on my Ram, more aggressive AT type tread, decent in snow but the WR G3 is better, I think

Weird, as my experience has been completely the opposite. I put Conti Pro-Contact Extreme DWS all seasons on my S4 and they had nearly 50k miles on them when I got rid of it. They probably had another 10k in them. The Conti Pro-Contacts that came on my Sportwagen TDI had about 20k on them when i sold it, and looked like they would live to see 50K as well. Not knocking Scotty's experience, just putting my positive experience out there as well as a counter-point.

My Outback came with Conti ProContacts (not Extreme, not DWS) and I was not impressed with them at all. They were "ok" tires, I guess. But, they seemed to wear fast and I opted for something different when it was time to replace them (at around 30k miles).

We decided that I would just drive her car for a while until all of the snow clears, and she can drive my truck. Her tires that she has on there aren't bad for rain or any other normal driving condition, so we will wait until they wear a bit more before changing them out.

I might shop around for a different size when we need new tires in two years. I wish I could get the Michelin LTX M/S2. I really like them on my truck.

Quick check the Michelin does come in a P265/60/18 Not much of a difference than your size. Here is the calculator.

255/60-R18 vs 265/60-R18 Tire Comparison - Tire Size Calculator

Over on acadiaforum.net a few people have also suggested these tires, so I believe we may go with these when that time comes.

Thanks for all the help fellas!
