Need Some Ideas?!?!?!??!? - 90 Ford Ranger

Alright so my lil brother has a 90 ford ranger 2wd 2.9L w/ 5 speed. I finally got him thnkin bout puttin the 302 i have sittin in the shop in it. But i know nothing bout fords. Im assumin the entire drive train is goin have to go. but what would be the best combaintion to put behind the 302. I really just lookin for ideas right now to give him so he knows what to look for befor he gets to deep into this project. Any info idea tips w.e yea got let me know i dont want to start this blind and slam into a dead end.

He could use the M5OD for a stock mate, or he can use a ZF-S5 (IIRC) for a beefier component. Some fabrication will be needed if he goes the ZF route.

Ranger is basically the same as Explorer. Many explorers had the 302. Find a donor Explorer and have at it!

sounds like he needs to do it , and you need to take us alot of pics of the process. Ive always wanted to do that to a ranger , or put a 9" and a dana 44 under a bronco II......
