Not sure that'd actually be less money.... plus wouldn't it be better to have the legal gcwr and then supercharge the 6.2. 
Need help with Yukon XL Denali or Suburban 2500 purchase

I'm all about the 6.2 with a supercharger. Didn't know that was an option 
I personally will have a hard time having anything NA anymore.
Regardless, I truly think you will be happier with the Denali.

Yup... we're spending too much money to do this wrong, so I want to make sure we're set for at least the next 10 years. Kids are currently 6, 5, 3 and 1 year old; this needs to be the last tow/family hauler I buy. Will take at least 5 years to pay off, go another 5 without payments, don't want to buy another SUV if I can prevent it so I can retire it at about 200k miles and get back in a pickup truck once the kids are older. Will only see about 12k/year (less if I don't sell the Jeep), hence I'm looking for 2010+, ideally with 50-75k miles.
The lift & tires will go on by next spring to support our OBX summer vacation. Then I might rent a tow behind travel trailer for a long weekend or two, both testing out the camper size prior to purchasing and seeing if any performance mods are required. Camper purchase will likely be the following year.

So devils advocate.... are there any arguments FOR the 2500 for my scenario? What about a supercharged 6.0L?

If you'll be towing a camper trailer, I'd definitely go for the 3/4 ton. Easy to run out of carrying capacity with 4 kids and all their stuff. I'm guessing you'll need a pretty good sized trailer too.
It is a toss up really. To me the AWD Denali is full time to my understanding. That is more wear and tear on front drive train over time. At least with a 2500 you can select 4x4.
I understand the need for comfort since it would be a daily driver.
Option of finding a good lower price 2500, add the SC to it and tune might help. If the rear axle isn't what you want, swap out one from a salvage yard donor maybe? Has to be something available out there, search car-parts.com Not sure the price difference between a 2500 and YDXL in the used market.
I'm not a fan of all time AWD. I know they have been out for a long time now but to me you are still sacrificing economy where AWD isn't needed. Which is 99% of the time.
Ok, did a quick search. Man what a price difference between the 2500 and Denali. Wow! Would have to look at it more but to me you can customize a 2500 the way you want it with axle and SC and such and maybe still be way ahead on a basic Denali.

Planning a tow behind like attached.... just enough to sleep everyone inside if it's raining, otherwise let the kids sleep in tents outside (when old enough).
Will the 6.0L actually tow better than the 6.2L? Or is the extra capacity of the 2500 from the increased GRAWR and suspension setup? If I need to beef up the suspension and lose some of the cushy Denali ride, but don't exceed the axle rating, I'm ok with that.
This is the one thing that does have me torn....

Honestly I'd prefer selectable 4x4 too... but the 6.2L AWD SD gets better mileage than the 6.0L 4x4 2500. Hence I really wish GM put the 6.2L in a 4x4 Suburban for a "Max tow package", but they didnt, so here I am.
From the duramax conversion site. Seems the cost isn't as much as I would have thought.

Unfortunately not an option. The vehicle purchase/setup will already be pushing our limit.... if I had $60k to put into a truck I'd be holding off another year or two since they're supposed to bring back the 2500 series.
I've considered getting an older one just to get by, then get a used 2018 or whatever 2500 in 5-6 years.... but with all the failed promises from GM, I don't want to bank on that.
