Yeah... but in true NASCAR fashion, the guy that cheated still gets to keep his "win".

Smells of Lance Armstrongism.

Hrmmmm, "keep the win."

Loses 50 pts, so he's actually negative 2 pts vs. if he hadn't even run the race. Loses the bonus points he would've accumulated for winning the race to be added to his Chase starting point (if he makes the chase). Loses his crew chief for six races. Dropped from 8th in points to 14th.

I doubt the drivers get much (if any) of the "winnings" from a race, due to the way the contracts are structured. So, with all of those penalties, I don't see that he "won" much here..

The big name drivers don't live off the weekly winnings. They live off what the race team, sponsors, etc. pay them. I'm not saying the drivers may not end up with some of the money. But, they're not depending on having to place top 10 to get the purse money to pay the mortgage.

They say Jr. made $28 million last year. There's no way in Hell or anywhere else he made that on his week-in, week-out race winnings!
