NASCAR announces 2019 baseline rules packages

I only watch NASCAR when I haven't slept well and need something to put me to sleep. Rolling billboards, ridiculous ever changing rules, and lack pf personality sent me to more interesting racing long ago... Get a Motortrend on demand subscription (it's cheap) and you 'll never need to watch a boring commercial filled race again.

I tried MTOD a while back. Maybe it was a bad app (on FireTV), but the video quality wasn't worth paying for. The video quality on YouTube (back when they posted free stuff on YT) was much better. So, I ditched it.

Honestly, any of the IndyCar / F1 stuff doesn't interest me. Something about the sound just never did it for me. I've watched a few other things, here and there, but not enough to care much about rooting for anyone in particular.

Even when the races are on the 'free' over the air channels, I don't watch near as much as I used to. I did get curious to see / hear how Jr was doing as an announcer, though. So, I signed up for SlingTV to catch 3 of the recent races on NBC SN.

I hope Fox does something to change up their booth next season. Kind of like the last few years with Madden on the NFL, DW has run his course for me. Get some younger blood in there. It's boring listening to the same lame jokes, week after week, year after year.

I was once a pretty big NASCAR fan. They have neutered the sport by going to a spec racer car and relying on selling ads. They don't seem to care that fans are leaving in large numbers. Constantly fiddling with the rules and adding a silly playoff hasn't helped.

BTW, I'm getting really good HD video with ondemand through my browser on my TV and PC. I like the fact that they have Aussie touring cars plus complete Japanese and Euro racing seasons... and now a ton of car related TV (without commercials). YAY!

I may give MTOD a try again some day. I did buy a new Roku a while back. So, maybe the app on it will be better than what was on the FireTV.
