i was talkin to a buddy of mine that does alot of builds like this and he said that if i got ahold of a S10 frame i would be better off. he said the old chevy body would fit better on the snaller s10 frame. plus i could find better wheels in the end haha.

I could see that. :dunno:

the old body does not fit on the newer frame because of how narrow the body and body mounts are. the old body fits perfectly on the smaller s10 frame...just makes for a easier swap. my dad had already swapped the body over onto the new frame, but it will need ALOT of welding for custom body mounts and its already being a pain in the ass getting the firewall all closed up. either way its gonna be a long time comin, but i just want to get it running for the old man. he is a pastor at a church...has one kid thats a freshman at Baylor and another thats about to be in college. he has too much on his plate and ive been blessed with a good job and the least i can do is help him out

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
That's what makes body swaps so difficult. If you're lucky you can find a modern vehicle that is fairly close dimensionally. You hear of guys swapping a C3 Corvette body onto a C4 frame, but those are similar enough of a vehicle.

I'm going to be excited to see how this turns out! Even if we have to wait a long time . . .

yea its gonna be a project thats for sure haha. luckily i have two friends that own large salvage yards...another friend who runs a truck shop..and another that can do all the automotive stuff for it. so if i cant do it hopefully i can use those guys to help speed it up haha. my plan is to not be dead ass broke afterwards!

I have seen a handful of Chevy truck bodies from the same vintage swapped over wrecked Blazers frames. Even with the 4.3L V6 it becomes a cool truck...
